In other nonleague girls’ tennis:
Costa Mesa 12, Westminster 6--Uyen Nguyen and Lananh Do swept their sets, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2, for Costa Mesa (4-4).
El Toro 14, Capistrano Valley 4--Michelle Shomaker, Shelly Vernick and Amanda Hoskins won the nine singles sets for host El Toro (4-2).
Irvine 12, San Clemente 6--Sarah Denson swept at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, to lead visiting Irvine (6-1).
In Century League tennis:
Canyon 17, Orange 1--Shannon Wilkens and Kim Westermann swept their singles sets and Candi Ramos and Sharmi Das swept their doubles sets for Canyon (8-0).
Villa Park 11, El Modena 7--Jill Riley and Shawna Lerer swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0, to lead visiting Villa Park (5-1, 1-0). Brandi Freudenberg swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for El Modena.
In Empire League tennis:
Loara 10, Cypress 8--Janet Kim swept her singles sets for visiting Loara. Kim, Loara’s No. 2 singles player fell behind to Melissa Pasquel, Cypress’ No. 1 singles player 3-1, but came back to win 6-4, giving Loara (2-5, 1-0) the victory over the Centurions (5-1, 0-1).
In Olympic League tennis:
Orange Lutheran 11, Calvary Chapel 7--Lori Wright swept her singles sets and Tina Gavin and Kari Beiter swept in doubles to lead visiting Orange Lutheran (3-3, 1-0).
Connelly 11, Cerritos Valley Christian 7--Cari Winkler and Mera Kariz swept their doubles sets for host Connelly (2-5, 1-0) defeated Cerritos Valley Christian (3-4, 0-1).
In the Orange League:
Brea-Olinda 17, Western 1--Senior Jessica Stoddard didn’t lose a game in singles and Beth St. Clair and Brandi Chaney swept in doubles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, to lead host Brea-Olinda (7-3, 1-0).
Valencia 16, Anaheim 2--Jessica Wilson didn’t lose a game in singles for Valencia (2-4, 1-0).
