PALMDALE — Only two weeks into the season and the Littlerock High football team is already living on the edge.
Bruce Johnson’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Hoa Le with 39 seconds remaining Thursday lifted the Lobos to a 12-10 nonleague victory over Oxnard at Palmdale High.
Last week, Littlerock (1-0-1) escaped with a 14-14 tie against Serrano when the Lobo defense recovered a fumble at its goal line with 33 seconds remaining.
Thursday, the Lobos again capitalized on a turnover late in the game to beat Oxnard (0-2). Mike Stewart recovered a fumble at the Lobos’ 36 with three minutes remaining. Johnson then directed a 64-yard scoring drive that was kept alive by three converted fourth downs.
After a scoreless first half, Littlerock’s Lafayette Bailey returned the kickoff 93 yards.
