Union Endorses 5 Election Candidates

A labor union that represents 6,000 public and private workers in Ventura County has announced its endorsements for the November election.
The Service Employees International Union, Local 998, endorsed Trudi Loh for supervisor in the 2nd District, Scott Montgomery for supervisor in the 4th District and Tom Mahon for auditor-controller.
Also getting the union’s support is Democrat Mindy Lorenz in the race for the 35th Assembly District seat and Democrat Jack O’Connell in the race for the 18th Senate District.
The union made its choices after interviewing candidates, said Barry Hammitt, an executive with the labor group.
