Braude Tends to Glamorous Brentwood, Ignores Van Nuys

You recently reported about Brentwood and all the wonderful things Councilman Marvin Braude has done for San Vicente Boulevard.
This is astounding to me, since Mr. Braude’s district includes the area on Van Nuys Boulevard from Magnolia Boulevard up to Sherman Way, one of the most unsightly areas in the Valley. I have lived here for over 40 years and have done most of my shopping on Van Nuys Boulevard, until the last few years when the nice shops left and we have nothing but tacky stores with tacky signs and merchandise displayed on the sidewalks.
Perhaps Mr. Braude should take a trip from Brentwood, where he lives, to Van Nuys Boulevard, where he is supposed to be in charge.
To quote the article, “Low density, beauty and substantial public benefit, that’s what I’m concerned about,” Mr. Braude said. So take a good look at Van Nuys Boulevard, Mr. Braude’s bailiwick, and you wonder how he can sleep at night.
