Services Are Scheduled for Slain UC Irvine Student Robert Sapinoso

Viewing will be today and Sunday for Robert Sapinoso, the 19-year-old UC Irvine student who was shot to death Wednesday as he tried to jot down the license number of a van he suspected was involved in a crime.
Sapinoso, who lived in Westminster, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. The killers remain at large. Police said they were driving a Toyota-type minivan, possibly oxidized silver.
The viewing is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the main building at at Forest Lawn, 4411 Lincoln Ave., Cypress. There will be a vigil at the Church of Our Fathers at Forest Lawn Sunday evening at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 14072 Olive St., Westminster, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn in Cypress.
