Camera Platforms International Inc., a Valencia-based manufacturer of production equipment for motion pictures and television, reported a loss of $409,000 for the second quarter that ended June 30.
The June quarter loss was 11% greater than the $370,000 loss reported for the same quarter of 1993. Revenue for the latest quarter rose 19% to $894,000, compared to $753,000 a year earlier.
For its six-month period, the company reported a $822,000 loss on revenue of $1.87 million, compared to a year-earlier loss of $894,000 on $1.26 million in revenue.
The company attributed its revenue growth to a subsidiary purchased in July, 1993, that makes dollies and cranes. Earnings were hurt, the company said, by increased interest costs.
