Investor’s Thrift Changes Name: The Anaheim-based savings and loan association, one of Orange County’s oldest, changed the name of its 11 California branches to Fremont Investment & Loan. A spokeswoman said the change reflects the purchase of the thrift by financial services giant Fremont General Corp. five years ago.
