Franklin 7, Garfield 1-- Oscar Cabrera had three hits, including a solo home run, and two RBIs to lead Franklin to a win over Garfield on Friday at Franklin.
Franklin’s Jeff Deno pitched a five-hitter, striking out eight.
Narbonne 4, Fremont 2--Mike Giacomi and Tim Martinez each hit two-run doubles as Narbonne won its first playoff game since 1991.
Wilson 2, Manual Arts 1-- Rafael Aispuro’s double drove in the winning run in the fifth and Rene Herrera pitched a three-hitter, striking out 10, as Wilson advanced to the second round.
