BRIEFLY : Taxes: Elderly May Qualify for Rebate
- Share via
Elderly and disabled residents may be eligible for a rebate from the Franchise Tax Board.
Through the state’s Volunteer Tax Assistance Program, individuals with income of less than $13,200 can get a rebate of up to $240.
Homeowners can get the rebate based on their income level and the amount of property tax they pay, but they also must make less than $13,200.
Last year more than 160,000 seniors and disabled people statewide got money back through the program.
In Carson, state-trained volunteers will help to determine eligibility and to fill out forms. For more information, call Carson Senior Services at (310) 952-1775.
