Jennings’ Anti-Nixon Stance
Regarding ABC’s television coverage of former President Nixon’s death and subsequent commentaries: I watched most of Henry Kissinger’s interview and all of Barbara Walters’. Both were informative and respectful.
However, Peter Jennings could barely contain his hatred of Nixon and came across as petty and extremely prejudiced, besides showing an overabundance of poor taste. Comparing his attitude with President Clinton’s moving announcement of Nixon’s death, as well as his eulogy, Jennings appeared to be a small, mean newsman.
