LAGUNA HILLS : Literacy Council to Honor Volunteers
- Share via
The South Coast Literacy Council, which has been teaching English to the foreign-born for 25 years, will celebrate its achievements Saturday.
The luncheon will honor the council’s 25th anniversary and fete South Coast volunteers who have contributed their time over the past year.
The event will start at 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn, 25205 E. La Paz Road.
Part of a nationwide organization, the group uses visual identification to teach English. Often, people of different nationalities are learning English side by side from the same tutor.
The council is a local chapter that teaches people from Irvine to San Clemente. For more information about the luncheon, call (714) 455-9395.
