PASADENA : AIDS Education Effort to Target Local Latinos
- Share via
The AIDS Service Center in Pasadena has joined a coalition of 20 Los Angeles-area AIDS organizations for an education project targeting the Latino community, believed to be the fastest-growing demographic group affected by the disease.
The project, “Nuestros Recuerdos--A Family Portrait,” will include a mural by grade-school and college students, as well as by people with HIV and AIDS. Educators will use the mural to open discussion on AIDS in the Latino community. The mural will include the names of Latinos who have died of AIDS.
The final mural will be displayed throughout Los Angeles County by October.
The project is supported by staff and volunteers from the sponsoring agencies. Information: (213) 881-2232.
