Mazurie, from Foothill High, finished her first season at Rancho Santiago on a strong note in the Southern California playoffs last weekend. With the Dons facing elimination, she came up with a record-setting performance. Mazurie had a Rancho Santiago single-game record five hits in a 17-1 victory over Ventura. She had three singles and two doubles, drove in three runs and scored four. Mazurie was nine for 19 in the playoffs and raised her season-average 11 points to .375, which is the second highest in the history of the college.
Other notables:
* Jennifer Allchin, Cypress, went five for nine to raise her average to .371 as Cypress won three playoff games.
