University 19, Fountain Valley 2--Host University (16-4) swept in double. Ross Ellis and Raja Kapadia won, 6-2, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 and Min Lee and Felix Ling won, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2.

In Division II:

Los Alamitos 14 2/3, Laguna Beach 6 1/3--Todd Kaplan swept at No. 2 singles, 7-6, 6-1, 6-1, for Los Alamitos (16-3), who will play the winner of Fullerton-Trabuco Hills.

Esperanza 16, Downey 2--While No. 3 singles were not played because of rain, Esperanza (13-9) still breezed past Downey and advanced to play No. 2-seed Redlands. Esperanza’s Devin Lopez won in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1 and teammates Matt Fryer and Tony Hsu won their doubles sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-1.

Sunny Hills 18 2/3, West Torrance 0--Kevin Kim swept No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and Juno Kuan and Hiren Bhavsar swept No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, to lead host Sunny Hills (18-1) in the first round.
