Drivers, engineers and team officials involved in Formula One racing have agreed to accept safety changes decreed by the sports’s governing body, the International Automobile Federation (FIA). The changes, designed to reduce speeds, will take effect at the next Formula One race, the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona May 29.

Roland Street, 54, of Hailey, Ida., the father of Olympic downhill silver medalist Picabo Street, pleaded guilty to beating his wife, Dee, 47, in a domestic dispute May 9. Street will be sentenced June 6. He was ordered to stay away from his wife and from Tim Coles, described as a friend of Mrs. Street.
