An Oxnard police officer suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon when a man driving a pickup truck pulled in front of the officer’s motorcycle, police said.
Officer Joseph Johnson, 35, was driving west on 5th Street when Ruben Gomez, 31, of Oxnard drove out of an alley at A Street in front of the officer, police said. Johnson attempted to avoid the collision, but broadsided the pickup.
Johnson was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for bruises to his knees, shoulder and back before being released, police said. Gomez was not injured.
Although police said Gomez failed to yield the right of way to Johnson, no charges are pending.
