“The Painting on the Wall” (by Wanda Coleman, Three on the Town, April 17) was a masterpiece of writing. But it left me wanting more. Where are the pictures of this exciting mural that was so eloquently described? Finish what you started by printing some pictures. Don’t leave us hanging.

Public support and funding for art contribute to positive growth and development of people and communities. Absent from Coleman’s piece was credit for this support.
The mural featured in Coleman’s column was funded by a grant from the L.A. Arts Recovery Program, part of the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department in cooperation with the California Community Foundation. The program was established to create cultural and artistic projects that contribute to rebuilding L.A. and encourage artistic empowerment in the wake of the 1992 civil unrest.
The program was made possible through a unique funding partnership--AT&T;, the California Arts Council, the California Community Foundation and Cultural Affairs Department, the J. Paul Getty Trust, the L.A. Art Association, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Los Angeles Times.
