Heydon Building Systems: The start-up company, which designs components for home builders, said Thursday that it is in the process of moving to Tucson. Heydon’s four employees will make the move from Santa Ana.
Heydon spokesman Peter A. Beher linked the move to “the general economic climate in California and the complete indifference to the small businessman in this state.”
“We tried to get a level of cooperation (from local government agencies), but nobody would ever help us,” he said. “It was either not their problem or not their department.”
Heydon is developing a component system with which houses can be assembled on site “quickly and easily” without heavy lifting, Beher said.
