PREP ROUNDUP : La Quinta Wins in Volleyball

Led by Kevin Doane’s 26 kills, La Quinta defeated Los Alamitos in a wild-card match Wednesday at Los Alamitos to advance to the first round of the Division II boys’ volleyball playoffs.
After losing the first game, 11-15, La Quinta picked up its offense to win three of the next four games, 15-6, 15-12, 6-15, 15-11.
In Sunset League softball:
Huntington Beach 2, Westminster 0--Led by Stefanie Noffsinger’s pitching, Huntington Beach remained tied for second place with Ocean View.
Noffsinger pitched five innings, giving up no hits and only one walk. She struck out 10.
