THE REGION : Funds for Adam Scott Fellowships Hit $56,000

Eight months after he was shot and killed, more than $56,000 has been raised in memory of attorney Adam Scott, son of Pasadena City College President Jack Scott.
Donations for the memorial fund at the USC Law Center have come primarily from individuals, said Karen Lash, assistant dean. The money will fund 10-week summer fellowships for students to work on issues that were important to Scott, such as homelessness, AIDS, the environment and gun control.
Lash said donations are still being sought to reach a goal of $80,000, which would provide a $4,000 annual fellowship.
Scott was slain Oct. 23 in Los Angeles when Ethan DuBrow, a friend of Scott’s, allegedly displayed a new shotgun. DuBrow faces trial June 16 in Los Angeles Superior Court on involuntary manslaughter charges.
