MOORPARK : Residential Toxic Waste Pickup Set
- Share via
Moorpark residents will be able to rid their homes of old paints, solvents, pesticides, cleansers and batteries from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday during the city’s first collection of household hazardous waste.
A maximum of five gallons or 50 pounds of material will be accepted from each resident, said Jill Ruben-Myers, Moorpark’s coordinator of solid waste. The city will not accept business or commercial waste, used medical supplies, old explosives, tires, or radioactive material, Ruben-Myers said.
Because waste space will be limited to that of 250 residents, appointments are required. Residents will be notified of the location of the collection site--and provided with maps--when they make appointments.
Appointments may be made using the city’s 24-hour appointment line at 529-6864, Ext. 333. The deadline for calling is 5 p.m. Thursday.
