Grants totaling $148,206 have been made to two Los Angeles youth sports organizations, fulfilling after nearly two years a promise by the Amateur Athletic Foundation to distribute $1 million in 1984 Olympic surplus funds in areas critically affected by the 1992 riots.
The grants of $100,035 to the Ketchum/Downtown YMCA and $48,171 to the Hoover Street Gym bring to $1,001,642 the amount of grants made by the foundation, which also distributes money to enhance youth sports throughout Southern California.
