MRV’s Profit Rises 83% in 1st Quarter

MRV Communications Inc., a Chatsworth maker of semiconductor laser diodes and fiber-optic products, said its first-quarter profit surged 83% as revenue doubled from a year ago.
For the quarter ended March 31, MRV earned $292,000 on revenue of $2.76 million. In the comparable period a year ago, the company had a profit of $160,000 on revenue of $1.39 million.
