SIMI VALLEY — A group of parents of Simi Valley High baseball players is investigating the possibility of hiring a lawyer to seek a temporary restraining order to reinstate Mike Scyphers as coach, said Maureen Celusta, the mother of senior pitcher Nathan Celusta.
Maureen Celusta also said she and other parents have scheduled a meeting at 8:15 a.m. today with Principal Kathryn Scroggin. Nearly two dozen parents signed a petition in support of Scyphers during the Pioneers’ game Wednesday.
Scyphers was removed as coach on Tuesday pending a police investigation into possible financial and disciplinary improprieties.
