THE REGION : Sheriff’s Stations to Take Guns for Disposal

Local sheriff’s stations in Altadena, Temple City, Industry and Walnut will be accepting firearms for disposal, no questions asked, starting Friday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Sheriff Sherman Block and County Supervisor Gloria Molina will present the gun disposal plan at a ceremony Friday honoring the latest graduating class from the Sheriff’s Academy. Ten deputies will also receive medals for heroism during the presentation, which will begin at 9 a.m. at 11515 S. Colima Road in Whittier.
