BEVERLY HILLS : Salters Are Named Citizens of Year

Former Mayor Maxwell Salter and his wife, Janet, will be honored this week as Citizens of the Year by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce.
The Salters will be recognized for their community service during the chamber’s 41st annual Beverly Hills Ball on Friday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Emceed by game show host Monty Hall, the event will also honor the president and 10 past presidents of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, which is based in Beverly Hills.
Academy president Arthur Hiller, who has directed more than 30 movies, including “Love Story,” will receive the chamber’s Will Rogers Memorial Award.
