Doing Julian Justice

If I had never been to Julian, I certainly would not be inspired to go on the basis of your article (“Off-Season Apple Pie,” April 10). It not only failed to mention the fascinating gold mine tour, but even failed to do justice to the historic Julian Hotel. I think the town is a perfect low-key weekend destination and certainly deserves better coverage. And whereas the restaurants may not be exactly gourmet, I think a writer might choose an establishment (or item on the menu) which would capture more of the local scene.
