Ventura : City Takes Survey on Business Conditions
- Share via
More than one-third of Ventura businesses hired new employees last year, and just over a quarter say they intend to make more hires this year, according to a survey of local businesses.
The survey, conducted by the city and released last week, included 76 businesses of varying size around Ventura.
About two-thirds of the businesses surveyed have been in Ventura for 10 years or more. If they had the choice to relocate today, 57% of business owners surveyed said they would stay in Ventura.
However, nearly one-third of the business owners said they do not find the city responsive enough to their problems.
Thirty-two percent of respondents told surveyors that if the city wanted to improve Ventura’s business climate, it needs to work harder at being responsive.
