VENTURA : Council to Consider Ramp Redesign Pact
- Share via
The Ventura City Council tonight will consider one of the first steps in redesigning the Victoria Avenue exit ramp from the Ventura Freeway.
The council will be asked to approve a contract with an Orange County firm to refine the state Department of Transportation’s preliminary design plans for the interchange and recommend the best design for the project.
Although the city has received $4.5 million in federal funding for revamping the interchange, all of those funds must go toward actual construction of the ramp. The city itself will pay for the $350,000 design contract and the remainder of the estimated project cost of $7 million.
Mayor Tom Buford said he was happy to have the money to start on the project. “It’s exciting to see it go forward,” he said.
