EL RIO : Man, 21, Stabbed While He Sits in Car

A 21-year-old El Rio man was stabbed several times in the chest while sitting in a car with a friend in the 2000 block of Balboa Street in El Rio, authorities said Friday.
Donald Alfred Reyes was in stable condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard on Friday, authorities said.
Reyes was sitting in the car in the residential neighborhood about 2:30 p.m. Thursday when a man dressed in a black sweat shirt and black pants came up to Reyes, reached in the window and stabbed him repeatedly, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Detective Raul Munoz.
“As strange as it appears, that’s what happened,” Munoz said. “We’re trying to piece things together now.”
Reyes is unable to talk and detectives are questioning his friend for clues to the stabbing, Munoz said.
