TRW to Repay Pentagon $29 Million: The company will make the payment to settle claims that it overcharged the Defense Department for jet engine and naval nuclear reactor parts. Assistant Atty. Gen. Frank W. Hunger of the Justice Department’s civil division said employees of two former TRW Inc. divisions, Compressor Components and Power Accessories, both in Euclid, Ohio, padded labor hour estimates to support inflated cost proposals, charged the Pentagon for time spent working on commercial contracts and misstated the costs of raw materials. He said the overcharges occurred on numerous military subcontracts from at least 1978 through mid-1984.
