City officials have reached agreement with a developer to turn the site of a former Buick dealership at Huntington Drive and the Foothill Freeway into restaurant.
Groundbreaking is expected this month for the Claim Jumper Restaurant, scheduled to open later this year. It will join a chain of 12 Southland restaurants.
Monrovia will also be home to a new medical plaza at the corner of Huntington Drive and Ivy Avenue and a two-rink ice stadium complex on Fifth Avenue this year.
