A volunteer board that has been working to preserve Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park on the Wilmington-Harbor City border was expected to present a master plan for the park at a meeting tonight.
Board Chairman Frank O’Brien said the report details what needs to be done to improve and preserve the park and will be presented to dozens of officials.
“It’s a fairly wide-ranging document, including history (and) detailed discussion of areas in the park,” O’Brien said. “It’s also a set of proposals with budgets--short-, medium-, and long-term.”
The 230-acre park contains recreational facilities, including a golf course, and the largest freshwater wetland and riparian woodland in Los Angeles County.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at the southwest corner of Kaiser Permanente Hospital, 25825 S. Vermont Ave. in Harbor City.
