Rockwell: Continuing its joint venture operations in China, Rockwell’s automotive division said Wednesday that it has signed a contract to supply a Chinese company with technology and training to manufacture Rockwell axles for heavy trucks.
Rockwell Automotive would not disclose the terms of the contract with China National Automotive Import & Export Corp.
Rockwell will train Chinese workers in product application engineering, plant layout and plant operations processing. The instruction will be conducted both in China and at Rockwell plants in the United States.
Rockwell Automotive and other Rockwell companies and divisions have several joint ventures with Chinese car and truck manufacturers, as well as printing press and other companies. The joint ventures are part of Rockwell’s strategy to supply equipment to customers in foreign countries from plants in or near those countries, a spokeswoman said.
