OUTLOOK
Hiskey did an outstanding job leading inexperienced Brea-Olinda to a second-place finish in league play last season. He lost his entire varsity roster of the previous season to graduation. Before 1993, the Tigers won or shared the championship three consecutive seasons. Brea-Olinda, which has eight returning starters, is poised to make another run at the league title. “Unlike last season, our experience is our biggest asset this year,” Hiskey said. “We’ve got to replace some people, but we have young guys who should help.” Brambilla, a first-team, all-league selection, batted .375 with six home runs and 23 runs batted in. Theis and Stoddard are strong defensively, and Hiskey believes they will also make big contributions at the plate. “We’ve got a lot of guys who have been through battles before,” Hiskey said. “That’s a lot more than we could say last year.”
