L.A. Harbor Dominates Orange Coast in Semifinal

Orange Coast, coming off the biggest upset of the season, lost to Los Angeles Harbor, 72-40, in one semifinal of the community college women’s basketball State tournament Friday at Solano College in Suisun City.
The Pirates had beaten San Mateo, 68-57, Thursday in the quarterfinal round. OCC came into the tournament as the third-place team from the Orange Empire Conference. San Mateo was the top-ranked team in the State for the last two months.
Los Angeles Harbor (30-6) moves into the 8 p.m. title game against Golden West.
Orange Coast shot 20% (5 of 25) in the first half and fell behind, 43-18. LeAnn Kazmer, a sophomore forward, was the only Orange Coast player in double figures with 13 points.
