WEEKEND TV : Channel 13 to Focus on L.A. Marathon

After spending the last few weekends feasting on the sights and Olympic sports of Norway, viewers can tune in to a sports event in their own back yard this weekend. KCOP-TV Channel 13 will provide marathon coverage of the 26.2-mile Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday. The station begins its telecast at 8 a.m. and will stay with it until 1 p.m.

Meanwhile, two new TV movies square off against each other at 9 p.m. Sunday. ABC’s is “One More Mountain,” starring Meredith Baxter as a woman who takes her family on the Oregon Trail, (7)(3)(10)(42). On CBS (2)(8), Peter Strauss stars in “Thicker Than Blood: The Larry McLinden Story,” about a securities broker who fights for custody of a 5-year-old boy even though he is not the biological father.
