Irvine Lake to Get Even More Trout
Trout fishing has been excellent at Irvine Lake, where many anglers have not only been filling their stringers with five-fish limits, but have also been taking trophy-sized fish as well.
As if that weren’t enough, now the heavily stocked lake will receive three more tons of Mt. Lassen rainbow trout this week as part of the ongoing Mt. Lassen Trophy Trout Classic, whereby tagged trout can be exchanged for cash prizes. The derby will continue through March 12.
The biggest fish of the week--an 11 1/4-pound rainbow caught by Kaz Hosozawa of Cerritos--was also a tagged fish worth $100.
