Holiday Does Little to Give Fish a Break

Southland fishermen didn’t miss a beat over the Christmas holiday. The main fare: rainbow trout, largemouth bass and striped bass.
Kevin Cox of Perris caught an 8 3/4-pound largemouth bass at Lake Perris on Christmas Day, using a nightcrawler.
San Vicente Lake produced only one blue catfish during the past week, but it was a 40-pound 8-ounce whopper landed by a lake regular, Floyd Talmadge of Chula Vista, using mackerel.
