Burrito Aftertaste

* After reading the story “Just How Big Is the Grande? Eatery Sued in State’s Attempt to Answer” (Dec. 11), I was appalled. Excuse me, but I read daily about gang problems, murders, the homeless, AIDS, not to mention Orange County’s unemployment rate, which is one of the highest in the country, and our tax dollars are being spent on “burrito” investigations?
If I’m not mistaken, this investigation involved resources from the County of Orange and the State of California. I would be curious to know how much our county and state spent on the $3.49 burrito “scandal”?
Is this serving the public interest? I would also think that The Times, which printed this article in somewhat waggish form, has a responsibility to ask the same question.
