* Ellen Batzel has been appointed executive vice president of corporate development and legal affairs for Security Environmental Systems Inc., a Huntington Beach hazardous waste transportation and disposal company. Prior to joining Security Environmental, she was a partner with the Los Angeles law firm of Bushkin, Gaines, Gaines & Jonas. Previously, Batzel was associated with Rifkind, Sterling & Levin as well as with Manat, Phelps & Phillips. She has also taught at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and for the California Bar Assn.
