Six new portable classrooms have been delivered to Roscoe Elementary School to ease an overcrowding problem that has existed for at least four years.
“We have kids who take buses to other schools because we’re overcrowded,” said Ruth Bunyan, principal of Roscoe Elementary School on Strathern Street in Sun Valley.
Bunyan said that about 150 children who are within the Roscoe Elementary area attend other nearby schools because of the overcrowding.
Those children may be able to return to Roscoe after the portable classrooms--three double bungalows--are installed. The classrooms were delivered to the school Friday, Bunyan said.
