An Amtrak passenger train Tuesday struck the rear trailer of an 18-wheel truck at a private rail crossing in Moorpark, slightly injuring the truck driver, authorities said.
None of the 40 passengers aboard the train were injured.
The collision occurred shortly after noon when Yenshayahu Gonshor, 53, a truck driver from North Hills, drove a truck towing two bottom-dump trailers across the ungated crossing at Gabbert Road, Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy George Fitzgerald said.
The westbound Amtrak train struck the second trailer at the rear axle, heavily damaging it, Fitzgerald said.
Gonshor complained of pain in one leg, but refused medical treatment after the accident, Fitzgerald said.
The accident is under investigation.
