Los Alamitos, Sr.
Football / Quarterback
Last season, Good was merely Tim Carey’s mop-up guy, playing only when Los Alamitos had a big lead and then only getting to throw a few passes between handoffs. But Good learned on the job quickly and led the Griffins to an undefeated season, which was completed with a 39-21 victory over Huntington Beach in the Division II title game Saturday. Good passed for 403 yards and four touchdowns in the victory. “The mark of a good quarterback is how many games your team wins and his team won every game he started,” Griffin Coach John Barnes said.
* Ron Hernandez, Santa Ana, won the 130-pound division and led the Saints to the team title of the Irvine wrestling tournament.
* Francisco Islas, Santa Ana Valley, had nine goals and two assists in four soccer games, including three goals in a 6-4 victory over Peninsula.
* Rani Kahouch, Savanna, had two interceptions and a 71-yard touchdown reception in a 20-13 victory over Whittier in the Division VI title game.
* Nick Roditis, Katella, was named MVP of the La Quinta tournament after scoring 14 points in a 56-50 victory over Savanna.
