Fire Guts Meiners Oaks Mobile Home

A fire gutted a mobile home in Meiners Oaks Monday evening, causing an estimated $70,000 in damage, authorities said. No one was injured in the blaze.
The owner, Sally Dunio, was away, but neighbors saw smoke and flames coming from the structure and called the Fire Department.
Three engines and a team of firefighters arrived at 5 p.m. but the home in the Golden Oaks Estates Mobile Home Park was already fully engulfed in flames, a Fire Department spokeswoman said.
Investigators believe that the fire may have originated in a heating unit in the mobile home, but could not pinpoint a definite cause for the blaze, the spokeswoman said.
“It looks very bad,” said Lois Wilson, a neighbor who lives near Dunio’s mobile home. “I think when she returns she’ll be in for a big shock.”
