Not for the faint-of-jazz-heart, tenor saxophonist Gayle is an underground cult hero for his unwavering allegiance to totally free, high-energy improvisation. Gayle appears with a trio at Nucleus Nuance tonight and System M in Long Beach on Wednesday .
