OC HIGH / STUDENT NEWS & VIEWS : Santiago Wintermas
- Share via
The students at Santiago High School in Garden Grove are preparing for Wintermas, an all-school festival that allows them to display their talents and raise money for their clubs.
Cultural clubs, such as the Spanish, Vietnamese, French and German clubs, sell exotic food. The industrial arts and woodshop classes take advantage of Wintermas to display their talents. The Art Club gives students an opportunity to have portraits drawn. Other clubs sell handmade crafts and operate game booths to raise money.
The Wintermas festival, launched by Principal Don Wise, is in its second year and involves nearly all 2,000 students in some way. This year the festival will be Dec. 15.
