1992-93: 18-5-4, 6-2-2 in the South Coast League; lost to eventual co-champion Claremont, 2-1, in the first round of the Division I playoffs.
Key returners: Erin Daley, Sr., midfielder; Mandy Faulk, Sr., midfielder; Renee Greco, Sr., defender; Sarah Hannay, So., midfielder; Mary Johnson, Jr., defender; Lindsay Light, Sr., midfielder, first-team all-section; Tara Maher, Sr., midfielder; Kim McKay, Sr., forward; Renee Parker, Jr., forward; Laurel Simpson, Jr., defender; Kelly Skeen, Jr., forward; Kim Thompson, Sr., midfielder, first-team all-league; Denise Velton, Jr., defender.
Key newcomers: Julie Castellanos, Jr., goalie; Erin Conners, Fr., defender; Mary Day, So., defender; Elizabeth Delgado, Fr., midfielder; Tiffany DeProsperis, Fr., midfielder; Sheila Teran, Fr., goalie.
Outlook: The Cougars appear to be the team to beat in their league. Nine starters return, including Light and Thompson, who Hutcheson says are the best two halfbacks in the county. If the unproven defense proves strong, a section title is within reach.
