COMMUNITY COLLEGE SOCCER : Cypress Women, Irvine Valley Men Play Today

The Cypress women’s team and the Irvine Valley men’s team are in the State soccer championships today at Orange Coast College.
Irvine Valley (17-3-4), the Orange Empire Conference champion, plays Ohlone (18-1-2) at 11:30 a.m. today in one semifinal. Santa Barbara (18-0-1) goes against Santa Rosa (11-4-5) at 2 p.m. in the other semifinal.
The men’s title game is 2 p.m. Sunday.
Cypress (20-0) takes on DeAnza (17-0-1) at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the women’s championship game. Cypress reached the title game with a 2-1 victory over El Camino Tuesday in the Southern California final.
Lori Van Herk tops Cypress with 12 goals, but Traci Osman has been the hot scorer. She has three of Cypress’ four postseason goals, including both against El Camino.
Pam Prine, the Orange Empire Conference player of the year, heads Cypress’ talented defense.
