Fremont Overcomes Washington

William Yates passed for 147 yards and a touchdown and ran for 86 yards and two touchdowns to lead Fremont High to a 28-21 City Section 3-A Division semifinal victory over Washington on Friday at Fremont.
Fremont (11-2) advances to the championship game for the first time in 43 years.
The Pathfinders have not been to the finals since 1950 when they won the last of three consecutive titles.
